We talk about our lives before we started Pubcasting. We also answer all the questions that are on your minds.
So get cup of tea or a pint of the best and enjoy a little inside peek at the Brit & Yankee.

The Brit The Yankee
The Brit
Phil Clark is the landlord and "The Brit" half of this virtual pub.
Coming to the USA from his native England in 1980, he thought he'd stay
a few years, make his fortune, and go back home.
Like many before him, he failed to go home AND hasn't made his
fortune yet either!!

Living in the Midwest and specifically the Chicagoland area all but
eighteen months of his tenure in the USA, he received his citizenship
in 2000 - a nice millenium present!  He now thinks himself a "native"
Midwesterner, in what he considers to be the greatest city in the US.
To celebrate this, he treated himself to the license plate 'USBRIT 1', and
this soon became his internet handle.

In 2005, he discovered podcasting, first listening and then as contributing
US correspondent to the Richard Vobes Radio Show, now just called Vobes.
"Podcasts allowed me to rediscover my English roots, and I learned things
about my native Sussex I had never known - all thanks to Vobes!"
A true amateur (as you can hear!!), Phil, or "Dr.Phil" as he became known
on the Vobes show, thinks podcasting is the bees knees.
"Creating a picture in sound with digital files appeals to my creative side, and
the geek in me"

As time went on, it became clear that he needed to try his hand at producing
his own podcast.  So teaming up with his darting buddy, Lingo, "Pubcast at
The Brit and Yankee" was born.

We hope you enjoy it!!!

The Yankee
Mike Lingafelter is the Cellar Master and "The Yankee" of this virtual pub. Mike has lived in the Chicago land area for most of his life.  Some years ago, in the 80’s, cable TV came to St. Charles IL and the cable provider set up a local access studio, offering free training to those interested in learning how to do cable shows for the community. Mike jumped at the chance, and within two years had written, produced and directed more than eight shows, two of which had runs of about a year each.

Fast forward to about a year and a half ago, when dart buddy and friend Phil Clark told Mike about this new thing that was taking off called Podcasting. Well, after getting hooked on many different podcasts, Mike started putting together small drop-ins for a couple of podcast shows.

Then one day Phil approached Mike with the idea of creating his own podcast and he asked Mike to be his co-host.  Always the behind-the-scenes guy, this was a big step for Mike, but he said yes, and The Brit and the Yankee was born.
