Pubcast 170 – ‘Twas The Show Before Christmas

Sketchbook Brewing beers feature in this seasonal show; Juniper Orchard, plus an unreleased early bottle of Lapwing Strong Scotch Ale aged in FEW gin barrels.
Mark’s other half, Tina Naski, brings us a sample of her latest home brew, a sessionable 80 Shilling Scotch Ale.
We finish up with Bell‘s Bourbon Cherry Stout, and a sharing of a magnum of Anchor Steam 2015 Christmas Ale…this is the 41st year of production for this seasonal favorite.
We get music from band As 40 Sleeps, and to end our final show of the year, our traditional presentation of The Night Before Christmas. Happy Holidays and Cheers!

Pubcast 169 – Sour Ales

We’ve got some interesting beers to review in this show, mostly sours of one kind or another.
We have 4 Hands Constellation, Flesk 3rd Anniversary Grand Cru, and Schlafly IBEX series Eleventh Labor.  Our Style of the Week is Lambic, and we sample Lindeman‘s Faro Lambic.
Also, our report from 4 Hands Brewing should give you a flavor for this St. Louis brewery.
All this and music from Railway Records artist Sarah Holtschlag. Cheers!

Pubcast 168 – Miskatonic Brewing

Mark and Phil head down to Miskatonic Brewing Co in “bucolic bosom of suburban Darien”, and meet up with Josh Mowry, “Demi-God of Bureaucratic Malevolence”, and John Wyzkiewicz, Head Brewer.

These cohorts in hops at this relatively new suburban brewery sit down and tell us what makes them tick, and we tell them how feel about their beers.

Our Style of the Week is Old Ale, and luckily there is one on tap at Miskatonic, in the shape of Grendel.
